Meet Cynthia

WidowSavvy was founded by Cynthia, who became a widow unexpectedly at 35 with three children and a life that changed in an instant. Over time, she returned to work, built a career, became a Registered Nurse, raised her children, and slowly built a life of her own.

That experience became the foundation for WidowSavvy—a place where women can find practical answers, useful resources, trusted experts, honest conversations, and hope for what comes next. Cynthia’s belief is simple: moving forward isn’t moving on.

A Personal Message from Cynthia

Hi, I’m Cynthia, founder of WidowSavvy. In 2007, at 35 years old, I became a widow unexpectedly. Suddenly, I was raising three children, managing a home, facing financial and practical decisions I had never expected to make alone, and trying to imagine a future that looked nothing like the one I had planned.

For a long time, I was simply surviving. Over time, I went back to work, built a career, became a Registered Nurse, raised my children, made plenty of mistakes, learned things I never expected to need to know, and slowly built a life of my own. That journey is why I created WidowSavvy. I know today what the 35-year-old woman standing in that hospital couldn’t possibly have known: life can become beautiful again.
